Decorative concrete landscape edging/curbing is a durable and affordable way to enhance the look and value of any landscape.
Not only is decorative concrete landscape edging/curbing beautiful and low maintenance, but it is also very functional. The constant battle of edging to keep the grass from creeping into the bed is virtually eliminated with decorative concrete edging. The problem with mulch continually washing out into the grass and walkways after every rain is also eliminated; therefore, keeping your landscape looking great and making the maintenance much easier.
Unlimited Color Options: We will recommend a color combination that best matches your home's over all color pallet. Sometimes we'll pair with your front door, stone, brick or maybe even your roof color.
It takes a full week for our curbing to completely dry. Although it will be strong enough to walk on after 48 hours, caution should be taken during the first week. Wait 5-7 days before doing any landscaping or lawn maintenance. Most importantly avoid any contact within the first 24 hours. Leave sprinkler and irrigation systems off for 24 hours. Please allow 24 hours before letting any pets or children around the curbing to avoid damage.
On an existing landscape we will use a bed edger machine to cut a 9" trench around your landscape beds without damaging your existing landscaping. The concrete is mixed on site. We do not use a concrete truck or any concrete form boards. Our custom concrete mix is manually extruded and free standing after being pushed through our curbing machine. We will then use a hand trowel to provide a smooth, professional looking finish. Expansion joints, texture, stamping and colors are added for desired look.
Most jobs will take 1-2 days at the most. There are some exceptions when installing highly decorative curbing or jobs needing excessive prep work. Some smaller jobs can be completed in just a half day.
Curbing is the longest lasting form of landscape edging. It will not rust or decay over time. We add fiber mesh strengthening to our curbing to ensure maximum strength and durability.
We'll provide you with flags to mark your sprinkler heads so that we can avoid them during prep work and installation. Also turn your sprinkler or irrigation system off 48 hours after installation. It would be a good idea to have your lawn maintenance completed prior to installation. After the curbing is installed we recommend waiting at least 5-7 days before using any lawn equipment.
During the first 24 hours we ask that there is no contact with the curbing at all. Do not wet the curbing with water; This will cause damage and require repair. The curbing will dry and cure properly on its own. Any contact with the curbing in the first 24 hours will cause imperfections in the finish and can even collapse completely if stepped on. A coat of sealer every year can be applied to keep it looking fresh. We will be happy to come out and refresh your curb for a minimal cost. If any damage is done by mowers, please give us a call to repair.
